"Love is a many splendored thing!" I'm sure you've heard those lyrics. But, have you heard, "Time is on my side!?!" Keep that in mind, my friend! It's GREAT to be in love. However, there is BALANCE to everything [at least there should be]. Allow some time to pass to ensure that this isn't merely infatuation based on what you've experienced to this point. If you need to pass time, keep a journal. Go to the gym five (5) days a week. Those things will definitely keep you occupied!

Redd's Gauge For LOVE: Today, I want you to write down how you feel about this person. Write down what you like and dislike. Write down where you see yourself with this person in a year, in five (5) years, in ten (10) years, and so on. In thirty (30) days, do exactly the same thing. Compare your brainstorming to what you wrote down today. Do in again sixty (60) days from today. Finally, do it one more time nintey (90) days from today. If you feel [in three (3) months] the way you feel today, then this love is genuine. If by then, you see his true colors and can't stand to look at him, you will know that you "fell in love" with his initial representative! The other way to measure genuine love is by Redd's definition of LOVE (below)!

Redd's Vocabulary:

LOVE - strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties; the UNSELFISH loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another; mutual endearment arising from time spent together; an intense feeling measured by and resulting in specific behavior (patience; kindness; humility; not being envious, arrogant, or rude; not being selfish or easily angered; forgiving without keep a record of the fault; not getting excited about bad or negative things; being excited about good and or positive things; protecting oneself and others; being optimistic; being consistent)!

If you both exhibit this kind of behavior, then you know your love is genuine. If you claim to love each other, but don't treat each other well, it's definitely NOT genuine. It's a cheap imposter for love! Throw it away!

From my lips to your soul...

Redd
